October is Breast Cancer awareness month, and as many of you know, my wife, Linda, was diagnosed with breast cancer last January. She is now a breast cancer survivor, and we have many people to thank for their incredible kindness, and generosity, as well as medical skills. Many organizations exist to minister to the unique needs of cancer patients, and the first one we went to, other than St. Luke’s Hospital, was Cancer Action of Overland Park, www.canceractionkc.org At absolutely no cost to us, Cancer Action provided Linda with a wig, scarves, hats, bras, shower chair, and nutritional drinks. In addition, they provided necessities for Linda’s husband, Steve, in his fight with cancer some years ago.
In a effort to give back, I will be creating paintings through out the month of October to raise money for Cancer Action. These small unframed paintings of various subjects will be approximately 5”x7”. They will be for sale at $75 each with $25 of the proceeds going to Cancer Action of Overland Park, KS. A new painting will be added each day. I have typically sold framed paintings of this size in galleries for $290. The artwork will be offered through Facebook and can also be viewed on a designated page of www.kimbellmccurry.com Shipping and payment instructions will be made via private messages on Facebook or email.
